2015 CORVETTE
The 2015 Corvette Stingray is here.

GM has released the MSRP pricing for the 2015 Corvette and overall, prices for all the models except the Corvette ZR1 have increased just $20 over the prices of the 2010 Corvette.

For the ZR1, pricing has increased $2,920 to $109,800 for the base model.

Two of the most anticipated options for the 2015 Corvette Z06 are the new Z07 Performance Option and the CFZ Carbon Fiber Package. GM has priced the Z07 at $9,495 and the CFZ option comes in at $3,995.

These options will be making their debut on the new 2015 Z06 Carbon Edition. Now, pricing hasn’t been released yet for the limited Carbon edition, but just by adding up the options we’re talking at least $95,000.Other option pricing shows the new level of customization that GM is working towards with the Corvette.

2015 Corvette Grand Sport

Beginning with the 2010 model year, Chevrolet reintroduced the Corvette Grand Sport, a nameplate that was last used in 1996. The car combines the Corvette's LS3-based powertrain with unique, wide-body styling and racing-bred suspension. The model replaces the Z51 from previous model years.

The car is offered in both coupe and convertible body styles, with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The LS3 6.2-liter engine is rated at 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque with the standard exhaust system. An optional two-mode exhaust system elevates the power ratings to 436 hp and 428 lb-ft.

Compared with the Z51 trim level it replaces, the Grand Sport delivers better handling, with wider wheels and tires; revised shock, stabilizer bar and spring specifications; and specific gearing.

The equipment enables cornering capability of 1.0 g, as well as a 0.2-second improvement in zero to 60 mph acceleration versus standard LS3-powered models.

2015 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible

This Jetstream Blue Grand Sport convertible with dark titanium interior started at $58,600. Added to the base price is the 4LT Premium package ($9700k – leather, Bose speakers, satellite radio, heads up display, heated power sport seats), Grand Sport Heritage Package ($1200 – 2-tone leather seats, seat embroidery, fender stripe), navigation ($1750), 6-speed paddle shift automatic ($1250), dual-mode performance exhaust ($1200), Jetstream blue metallic tintcoat ($850), pedal covers ($250) for a grand total of just over $16k in options bumping the price with destination charge to $75,740.

Lower yourself into the low slung seats, press the start button and you are greeted with an initial throaty rumble from the V-8 before it settles into a smooth idle. Rev the engine and you notice it revs smoothly and rises quickly. The gas pedal is heavily weighted (compared to every other car I’ve driven), and requires some effort to depress. Regardless, I loved the flexibility of the engine whether cruising around town or passing at 80 mph – the 6.2 liter engine never disappointed and remained extremely smooth. It’s not only fast and furious, but easy to drive as well.

2015 Corvette Z06

GM wants the world to know that it can take on the best of Europe with the new 505-hp Z06, the fastest Corvette the company has ever produced. To make that point, GM held the first press drive of this American sports car in Europe.

The three-day tour began in Germany, headed west to Belgium, and then southwest for Paris. Along the way we did a handful of laps at the Nürburgring's Formula 1 track, a 3.2-mile course that's next to the famous 12.9-mile Nordschleife course, and at Spa, a 4.3-mile road course in Belgium that has the hairiest downhill-uphill series of three wicked turns we've ever sweated through. That section, called Eau Rouge, provided the biggest thrills of what was basically an uneventful tour. Europeans gawked at the car and seemed to applaud it. They likely were unaware that they were witnessing the arrival of a car that exposes the majority of European sports cars for what they are: overpriced, underperforming snobs.

The Z06 starts at $65,800. It is the most powerful and expensive model in the Vette lineup and, interestingly, the lightest. Usually, the best-performing car in any model lineup is the beefiest, because adding horsepower generally means fortifying other parts of the car to withstand the strain caused by big power.

2015 Corvette ZR1

2015 will be the 58th year of production for the fabled Chevrolet Corvette and similar to the 2010 models, the 2015 Corvette Coupe offers four different trimlines.  The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe begins with a base model, followed by the Grand Sport, the Z06 and finally the ZR1; making for the most trimlines offered on the Corvette Coupe aside from 2010 but unlike last year’s Corvette Coupe, 2015 offers a array of new customization options.

The base model 2015 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a 430 horsepower LS3 V8 mated to either an automatic or manual six-speed transmission.  If the automatic transmission is chosen, the 2015 Corvette Coupe can be equipped with steering wheel mounted shift paddles to offer the driver manual control of the gear selection when in Drive.  New for 2015, the Corvette Coupe is available in Inferno Orange and Supersonic Blue with the option of contrasting colored headlight housing offered in Cyber Gray, Black or Blade Silver.   Inside of the 2015 Corvette Coupe, buyers can select from blue, red or yellow stitching and a USB port and input jack are standard with the navigation radio option.  Finally, the 2015 Corvette Coupe offers a new brake packing featuring larger cross drilled rotors for those who want a little more stopping power from their new Corvette.
